Members of staff offer a range of extra- curricular activities, which form an important part of the school. We are also actively seeking to further improve our existing provision through developing sporting partnerships.

The current range of activities has included:

Netball, Football (boys and girls), Rugby, Tag Rugby, Cross- Country, Athletics, Rounders, Tennis, Cricket (boys and girls), Gymnastics, Combat Fitness, Wii Fitness, Circuits, Cheerleading, Dance, Street Dance, Art, Choir, Wind Band, String, Percussion, African Drumming, Jazz, Guitar and Brass Groups, Music, Drama, Gardening, Computers, Chess, Science, Eco Club, Cooking, Nature Detectives and French.

Educational visits are organised to support and extend the work in the classroom and are described in more detail in the school's curriculum section.

Opportunities include: visits to Museums; places of worship and theatre productions.

Further activities include the provision of residential activities, for example, the Year 5 Geography Trip to Norfolk, Year 6 French trip to Normandy, Year 7 to North Wales and the Year 8 activity week to Blue Peris Outdoor Centre in Wales.

Most of the visits and activities involve parents making a financial contribution. A subsidy from the Government can provide financial support towards the cost of all trips if certain criteria is fulfilled. Additionally, the James Holyoake Memorial Trust may also help to meet the financial needs of any pupil at the school, to enable them to share fully in the activities provided. The school is able to help and advise parents who wish to make their written application, to the Trustees.
